Lee was given to the National Statuary Hall Collection by the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1909 and stands in the Crypt in the United States Capitol in Washington, DC., Friday, July 31, 2020.  Lee attended the US Military Academy (West Point) and served in the Mexican War.  Later he served as commander of the army of the Confederate States of America (CSA) during the US Civil War.  He lived from January 19, 1807 to October 12, 1870.
