THE INTREPID Photo - The aircraft carrier USS Intrepid is towed out of lower Manhattan from its berth at Pier 86 down the Hudson River. Since 06 November, when the tow attempt was unsuccessful, salvage operations have been taking place to free the Air and Space Museum from the 17 feet of mud. The decommissioned war ship is being taken to a shipyard in Bayonne, New Jersey for renovations which could last up to two years.
