The judge rejected a copyright-infringehment claim that Browns blockbuster had "appropriated the architecture of their 1982 book. The ruling will allow a film based on Brown's book starring Tom Hanks to open in cinema's in the near future. 'The Da Vinci Code' has sold more than 40 million copies world wide. Leigh stated "We lost on the letter of the law. I think we won on the spirit of the law. To that extent we feel vindicated."
