Mariah Carey, The Answer, The Cars, The Fames, YES Photo - Mariah Carey was scheduled to make an appearance at UJA-Federation's "Music Visionary of the Year Awards," but things did not go smooth for the famed songbird. Mariah's tour manager, Michael, was very nervous and visibly frustrated and upset talking franticly on his mobile phone while waiting for Mariah outside the Pierre Hotel. At some point he was seen crying. When she finally arrived running more than one hour late, Mariah looked very upset -- her eyes glistened and appeared to be moist under the sunglasses, which may have indicated that Mariah has cried on the way to the event. Mariah did not get out of the car right away and remained inside for more than twenty minutes. At some point, a few event representatives emerged from the hotel and were seen talking angrily to Mariah and her tour manager. Finally, unidentified man stormed out of the hotel and confronted tour manager Michael with the question, "Yes or No!" to which the answer was "Yes, she will do it." Before Mariah got out of the car, five security guards were summoned to make sure that she does not get photographed entering the hotel. Later Mariah skipped the press room. New York, June 18, 2003.
