Lohan has reportedly pled not guilty to felony grand theft charges filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for stealing a one-of-a-kind $2,500 necklace from a Venice Beach jewelry store. According to reports, Judge Keith L. Schwartz told Lindsay, "Although people have been courteous, you now have a pending felony case. You're in a different situation now that a felony has been filed against you. If you violate the law, I will remand you and set no bail and your attorney won't be successful this time. You need to follow the laws just like everybody else. You're no different than anyone else, so please don't push your luck because things will be different." Reports go on to say that Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyers has asked that Lohan and her "agents" stay away from the store, which reported being "alarmed" due to a flower delivery after the incident. Lindsay's attorney Shawn Chapman Holley defended her, saying she has complied with the terms of her probation and meets regularly with her probation officer. Meyers added, "A good probationer doesn't pick up a new case." The felony charge could constitute a probation violation related to her prior DUI conviction and makes that situation even more serious. Bail was set at $40,000 including $20,000 on the theft charge and $20,000 on the alleged probation violation. If convicted of grand theft, Lohan could receive up to three years in state prison.
