The Stage, Humane Society Photo - Dogs and their owners participate in the 2nd annual Surf City Surf Dog event at Huntington Dog Beach. A portion of the proceeds raised during the charity event, which saw dressed up dogs hit the waves on surfboards, went to the Coastal German Shepherd Rescue, Huntington Dog Beach, Orange County Human Society and the Pet Rescue Center. One of the day's participants was innovative 16-year-old quadriplegic Patrick Ivison who is an 'adaptive' surfer. Ivison and his dog Ricochet surfed together and were able to raise more than $100,000, money that will go towards the costs of Ivison's experimental treatment, something that will help him reach his goal of walking across the stage to collect his high school diploma.
