A postage stamp honoring the late composer Henry Mancini
will be unveiled this evening during a ``Mancini Musicale'' benefit at UCLA
that will feature a salute to actor Clint Eastwood.
   ``Henry Mancini's influence on the music industry has never been stronger,
and this stamp is a special way to pay tribute to his enduring genius,'' said
Postmaster General John E. Potter, who along with Quincy Jones will attend the
fete.
   Mancini is the composer of numerous television theme songs and film scores
including, ``The Pink Panther.'' He won 20 Grammys and four Oscars and sold
more than 30 million records. He died June 14, 1994.
   The stamp -- a painting by Victor Stabin of Mancini conducting -- will be available next Spring.
   The event at UCLA's Royce Hall will include a cocktail reception and dinner emceed by CBS ``Late Show'' talk show host Craig Kilborn. A concert featuring
Diana Krall, Arturo Sandoval and Christian McBride will follow.
   Clint Eastwood will receive the Hank Award for his support of American music. -
