Piper reportedly had hoped for a full-time media career, but in 2008 was subject to a horrible attack during which Stefan Sylvestre threw sulphuric acid on her face. According to reports, the attack, which blinded her in one eye, was arranged by Katie's ex-boyfriend, Daniel Lynch. Katie received an operation, the first of its kind, which rebuilt all the skin of her face with a skin substitute and then a skin graft.
